I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Shipwrecked Minature Golf

We were given a free visit to Shipwrecked Miniature Golf for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Shipwrecked Minature Golf

Where: 621 Court Street
             Brooklyn, NY

Who: All ages

Me - Shipwrecked Miniature Golf was not like any other minature golf course I have ever been to in my life. First of all, they give you coins and there are slots along the course. If you put a coin in the slot, there are recorded messages. It is supposed to be like you are on a pirate journey looking for gold. It was really interesting. I don't understand what that had to do with golf, however, although the concept was interesting. The golf course itself was really cool. There was one thing that was really unique that I have never seen at any other minature golf courses I have seen. There was one hole where there was water between the two sides of the green. It was really pretty and different in a good way. There were different themed areas within the course. My favorite area was one that revolved around Brooklyn. That was really interesting. There was a painting of the Brooklyn Bridge. Also, one of the holes was like a subway. That was really fun because I have been on the subway so many times. I have never seen anything like that at a miniature golf course. Visiting Shipwrecked's Minature Golf Course was a very unique and enjoyable experience.

Mom -  Shipwrecked is a completely indoor minature golf course with a pirate theme.  If you are looking for a minature golf course that has a lot of windmills and cute little buildings and things, you will not find that here. However, if you are looking for a very unique interactive golf course, Shipwrecked is a great choice. The idea is that you are on a pirate adventure. There are four different themed areas in the course including one that revolves around a nature theme and one that revolves around a Brooklyn theme. The latter even includes a hole that looks like a subway. Each section has an interactive segment that you can activate by using special gold coins. The coins must be purchased separately, however, and are not automatically included with your purchase of a round of golf. Also, if there is going to be a member of your party who is not playing, they have to pay a $7.00 spectator fee if they want to be on the golf course. Parties with kids under 12 are allowed one free spectator pass, however. Course replays are only $5.00 each which is only about a half to a third of the cost of the initial game depending on your age. Shipwrecked Golf is suitable for all ages. If you are playing with very young children who frighten easily and don't like pirates, you may not want to activate the interactive elements although these elements should not be scary to older children or adults.
