I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday -Book; The Secret Letter & DVD: Manifest: The Complete First Season

We have been provided with free copies of the book and DVD mentioned in this post for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Book: The Secret Letter

Mom - Today I am recommending The Secret Letter by Debbie Rix.  Even though there are plenty of books about World War II, this book , which is partially based on the author's own parents, showcases two characters completely different from those that have come before. Magda is a German girl and although she was forced to be part of the League of German Girls, she never really agreed with the Nazi ideals,  and the way they treated people. Inspired by her brother's work with the resistance in England, she joins up with a group of college students trying to fight against the Nazi propaganda and that is only the beginning of her efforts to subvert the German machine. Imogen is an English girl  as child, she is sent away to school to keep her safe from the bombing, but when she gets older, she to do wants to do her part so she joins the Women's Royal Naval Service ( the Wrens). Both girls are extremely brave and inspirational. The  books is exciting and dramatic, but at times it sweet and romantic too. It is a really great read.

DVD: Manifest: The Complete First Season

Me & Mom - Today we are recommending Manifest. Manifest is a new NBC television series about a plane that disappears on a trans-oceanic flight. Five years later, the plane shows up. The rest of world is five years older, the passengers on the plane have not aged a day. To be perfectly honest, we decided to watch this series because we were offered the DVDs for review, and the premise was interesting. Although at first, it was a little confusing and hard to get into, by the end we were completely hooked. It has everything you can possible want in a series. It has drama. It has suspense. It has romance. It is completely unpredictable. and you never know where the story is going to go. Also, unlike some series the premise never gets played out and becomes boring, it just gets more interesting and draws you in more as the show goes along. We can't wait to watch season 2!

Manifest: The Complete First Season is Available to Own Today on DVD or Digitally!

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
