The Sound of Music is one of the most beloved movies of all time. The  movie is based on the original Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway show of the same name which premiered in 1959. Since then, there has been at least one Broadway revivial as well as numerous productions around the world  of the show including  many in schools and community theaters.
