I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

A Christmas Carol

We were not financially compensated for this post. We received free tickets to the Player's Theatre production of A Christmas Carol for review purposes. All opinions expressed here are our own.
Me - A Christmas Carol, wow! A Christmas Carol was by far the best show we have seen so far at the Player's Theatre. It was really funny. The acting was great especially Eric Fletcher who played Scrooge. He is so funny, and he's a great actor. He is so animated. He really brings all of his characters to life. The singing in the show was good too. I didn't have a favorite song though. I never actually read A Christmas Carol. I had previously seen an old version of the movie, and I didn't like it. The show was so much better. Before, the show there was a workshop. The director and Eric Fletcher talked about the show and what you need to make a show and the musical director talked about the music. Also, there was a craft and the kids got to sit on the stage and make snowmen picture frames. I would definitely recommend this show.
Mom - I definitely agree that A Christmas Carol was the best show we have seen at the Player's Theatre so far. It was a very enjoyable show. The acting was good with Eric Fletcher once again being the standout. This time he played Scrooge. When he was mean, he was just mean enough without being so scary as to frighten any small children in the audience. When he was nice, he was ebulliently joyful. Mean or nice, he was always funny. I also especially enjoyed Brianna Hurley who played Agy and also the Ghost of Christmas Present. As Agy, she reminded me of Eliza before her transformation into a lady  in My Fair Lady. When she was the Ghost of Christmas present,  she floated along like a graceful ballerina. She was so different  that at first I didn't even realize it was the same person playing both parts. While I have never read the book A Christmas Carol nor have I seen it performed on stage before, I have seen many different versions of the movie. Some versions I have enjoyed; some not so much. This show is one of the more enjoyable versions of the story that I have seen. I really appreciate that there was a lot of humor in the show. That just makes it so much more fun to watch. I liked the traditional Christmas Carols sprinkled throughout the show. I also liked the song Penny Pincher. It is not as great as Misunderstood from the Player's Theatre  production of The Little Mermaid. We saw that show in the spring, and my girls are still going around singing the song. However, Penny Pincher is a fun song, and I liked it. In fact, all in all the show was a lot of fun to watch, and I would recommend it.
And that's our view. What is your favorite movie version of A Christmas Carol?

Tune in tomorrow for Funny Friday.
