I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - The Banksy Museum

We were given complimentary tickets to The Banksy Museum for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: The Banksy Museum

Where: 277 Canal St.
             New York, NY

Who: All ages

Banksy is simultaneously one of the most well-known graffiti artists and one of the least known.  Although many people are familiar with his work, only a few know his true identity.  He shuns commercialization and pretentiousness. Yet his work has become coveted by collectors and can even be found in a museum dedicated to the artist and his work.

Still, the Banksy Museum is far from your typical art museum. The walls are concrete and no ropes or alarms keep you at arm's length from the work you're viewing. Of course, you are still not allowed to touch the artwork.

Many of Banksy's most famous pieces are on display in the museum including several variations of his girl with a balloon. One of these was famously shredded immediately upon being auctioned off for a huge sum of money. Other works in the exhibit include some of his Ukranian works, variations on the famous works of others, and numerous depictions of rats.

The museum is open seven (7) days a week and takes up three whole floors.  It is the largest collection of Banksy's Art in the world.
