I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: Zen Puppies Mediations for the Wise Minds of Dog Lovers & The Weight of Smoke

Books: Zen Puppies and The Weight of Smoke

Today we are recommending Zen Puppies Meditations for the Wise Minds of Dog Lovers. Now, is the perfect time for this book! Not only is it full of words to live by but each page contains a picture of an adorable puppy too! If you are an animal lover, there is no way you can look at these cute pictures and not smile, and who doesn't need a smile right now?

Today we are also talking about The Weight of Smoke by George Robert Minkoff which is now available in audiobook form. This book is the first part of the In the Land of Whispers trilogy which is the novelization of the lives of Captain John Smith and Sir Francis Drake. This particular book revolves around the founding of the Jamestown colony. While, it is interesting to think about these men as real people with hopes, and dreams, and thoughts of their own instead of just names in a history book, the book is rather long and it is told in an authentic Elizabethan tone. If you do not love history or if you only like books that are written in modern language then you are probably not going to enjoy this book. However, if those things don't daunt you and you like the idea of vicariously being a part of history or at least a fictionalized version of it, you may enjoy listening to this book.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
