I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Let's Talk About Outrageous Pumpkins

We recently finished watching a new competition show on the Food Network called Outrageous Pumpkins. In this show, experts in different areas including a chainsaw artist,an ice sculputor,  a vegetable sculptor, and more competed to carve different pumpkin creations in order to be named the champion pumpkin carver and win a $25,000 prize. The show was really unique and interesting. It was incredible what these artists could come up with out of pumpkins. We can barely draw a face on a pumpkin let alone make a jack-lantern or carve anything special and unique. The series lasted four weeks and every week the creations got more interesting and difficult culminating with five-foot-tall  sculptures out of giant pumpkins of over 1,000 pounds in final the week. Overall, it was a fascinating show.

And that's our view.

Even though the series is now over, The Food Network will be rerunning all four episodes. If you are interested in watching go to www.foodnetwork.com/shows/outrageous-pumpkins/episodes for more information.

Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.

  1. I don't watch a lot of the halloween cooking shows but this I really enjoy. It is so hard to believe what start out with and what they end up with.
