I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - Sweet Land the musical

What: Sweet Land the musical

Where:  historytheatre.com/at-home/sweet-land.

Who: Teens and Up

When: Through October 22, 2020

Sweet Land is a new musical based on the film of the same name and the short story A Gravestone Made of Wheat by Will Weaver. The story is very touching and timely as the plot revolves around an immigrant being treated badly. Inga is a mail order bride who has come over from Germany to marry her intended Torviq. Although some of the townsfolk are friendly toward her; others are distrustful of her because of her nationality as well as because of the fact that she speaks very little English. However, in the end, everyone learns a lesson about what it truly means to love thy neighbor and be there for one's fellow man.  At first, the songs don't really seem that special or like they add anything to the story. However, they get better as the show goes along, and there are a couple of  extremely sweet ballads between the two main characters later in the show. Their last duet is particularly  stirring. The ending of the show is very poignant as well. This is a show that will touch your heart.

And that's our view.
