I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

November 22, 1963 is one of the most infamous days in history. As President Kennedy's motorcade heads down the streets of Dallas, Texas, a shot rings out. Days later his accused assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, is led through the basement of the Dallas Police headquarters only to meet his doom. The nation mourns for the loss of a great leader, and for a truth that can never be spoken.  Told through the eyes of his now elderly widowed wife, Oswald explores two possible versions of the accused assassin’s journey simultaneously. On one side of our story we follow a troubled youth caught up in an impossible situation, which ultimately leads to the conspiracy theories many believe to this day. On the other, we watch a cold-blooded killer driven mad by his unrelenting need to be remembered.

CONTACT HIGH, an original new musical with book, music and lyrics by Kyle Reid Hass and Jeremy Swanton is slated for a limited engagement run August 15th – September 7th at Theater 511, 511 West 54th Street. The official press opening night is on Thursday, August 22nd. Mr. Hass also directs the production.  CONTACT HIGH tells the compelling story of the unlikely friendship between two high school seniors: Jean Simon - a drug dealer and recovering heroin addict and Haley Walter Keys - a misunderstood teen genius with a severe phobia of physical human contact. The production draws its inspiration from the teen angst musicals that got the creators through high school and is a testament to the resilience one can find in the hope of a better tomorrow. www.contacthighmusical.com

CONTACT HIGH is not only a story about coming of age, but about coming of age today. The show addresses the heroin epidemic among American high schoolers, particularly in the Midwest. It deals with the stigmas surrounding mental health and the isolation a student might feel while struggling to overcome these stigmas. The climax of the show touches on the subject of gun violence in American high schools, especially the notion that teachers should be armed with guns as a solution to the recent outbreak of school shootings.

Performances of CONTACT HIGH are Mondays and Tuesdays at 8PM, Wednesdays at 2PMand 7PM, Thursday and Fridays at 8PM, and Saturdays at 5PM and 9PM. There are 28 performances in total. The running time is two hours (which includes the intermission). There are 21 performances in total.

General Admission tickets are $42 and premium seating is available for $77. They are available for purchase online at https://ci.ovationtix.com/35107/production/1014717 or at the box office prior to each performance.

Hailing from Tasmania, Hannah Gadsby has come to the world’s attention through her multi-award-winning stand-up show Nanette, which played to sold out houses across Australia, London, Edinburgh, New York and Los Angeles before launching on Netflix last June as the first Australian Netflix Original Comedy Special and stopping the comedy world in its tracks.

The overnight success of Hannah Gadsby was more than ten years in the making, with her award-winning stand-up shows a sell-out fixture in festivals across Australia and the UK since 2009. She played a character called Hannah on the TV series Please Like Me and has hosted three art documentaries, inspired by comedy art lectures she created to accompany collections at major galleries.
