I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Theater Thursday - Enter Laughing: The Musical

We were given free tickets to Enter Laughing the Musical for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Enter Laughing the Musical

Where: Theatre at St. Peter's Church
             619 Lexington Ave.
             New York, NY

Who: Recommended for Ages 13 and Up

When: Through June 9, 2019

Mom's view: Years ago, my father was in a production of Enter Laughing the non-musical version in the Community Theater, and it was a very funny show. It did not seem like music could really add to the show and make it any funnier. However, I was wrong. The musical version of the show is at least as funny if not even funnier than the original. Songs like My Son the Druggist and If You Want to Break Your Mother's Heart even sound amusing when you just hear the titles, and they are so much more so when you actually hear them. Even songs that sound like they would be perfectly typical musical theater songs like Say the Words and The Man I Can Love are given a crazy spin in this show. Even the  premise of this show about a girl crazy boy who wants to get out from under the thumb of his overbearing parents and be an actor even though he knows nothing about acting sounds full of comic potential, and plays even funnier than it sounds. You may not enter the theater laughing, but you will most likely leave laughing.

And that's Mom's view. Tune in Sunday for this week's Sunday Scoop.
