I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Ripley's Believe It or Not Times Square 2017

We were given free tickets to Ripley's Believe It or Not Times Square for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.
What: Ripley's  Believe It or Not Times Square

Where: 234 W. 42nd St.

Who: All ages

Me - Ripley's Believe It or Not Times Square was a really fun place. I was really excited to go there because I had wanted to go for a long time. We got to see a real New Year's Ball from Times Square. Every ten to fifteen years, they get a new one. The one at Ripley's is the most recent one that's not up now. We even got to touch the New Year's ball. It's really colorful and pretty. Not only did they have a New Year's ball, they also had some of the crystals that they use to make up New Year's Balls. There was this exhibit of this really tall man. I felt so short next to it. There were a lot of animals that had two heads. There was an elephant head with two trunks. There was a train made entirely out of toothpicks. It was really cool! There was a gorilla made out of tires. There was a really tall giraffe. There was an alligator hanging from the ceiling and a really heavy man. There was a Buddha. If you rub its belly, it's supposed to be good luck. There was a stuffed squirrel tea party. There was a piece of coal from the Titanic. There were these really big shoes that were actually owned by a human. There was a model of a woman from another country and she had these rings around her neck. They had a Yankee jersey signed by a bunch of pitchers who pitched perfect games. They had a piece of the Berlin Wall. They had a room full of torture devices. There was a place where you could put your head, and it looked like your head was in a jar. There was a place where you could lie down and there were mirrors so it looked like you were climbing the Empire State Building. There was also a Zoltar machine. That reminded me of Big. There was a thing that you could walk over that made it look like you were walking on  tightrope over New York City. There was a giant operation game. It was cool. You could play it but it was hard because everything was attached. There was a Darth Vader made out an old typewriter and another one made out of staples. There was a dinosaur that you could climb into and you could pretend that the dinosaur was eating you. There was a picture of Lou Gehrig entirely made up out of the words of his famous speech. There was picture made out of butterfly wings too. There was a picture of John Lennon made out of dog hair. In one area, there was a plastic man with a half a body on the wall, you could climb in behind it in a place that made it looked like you were in half too. There were also a  lot of other things. Over all, I had a lot of fun going to Ripley's New York, I would really recommend that you go.

Mom - Ripley's New York is a museum like no other. It is like an art, science and history museum all in one with its own unique twist. Here the art includes pictures made out of things like puzzle pieces, pennies, gumballs, and/or typewriter keys. The science includes x-rays of objects that people and animals have swallowed. The history includes an exhibit devoted to various torture devices. There is an exhibit of famous people's hair including George Washington and Elvis Presley. There are crazy animals like goats with two heads, elephants with two trunks, and an albino giraffe. There are crazy people like the world's tallest man, the world heaviest man, and a bearded lady. There is a whole section of optical illusions. There are fun interactive exhibits like the spinning vortex tunnel and a LaseRace game. There are even exhibits that you can touch including an actual New Year's Eve ball. You can also sit in one of several authentic baseball stadium seats including several from old Yankee Stadium. There is no better place to go to be fascinated and entertained at the same time than Ripley's Believe It or Not Times Square. Just be aware that some exhibits may be a bit scary for very young children or those that scary easily including the torture device exhibit and a shrunken heads exhibit. Kids that don't scare easily especially tweens and up would probably enjoy the museum.

  1. Whoa, it looks like there was a whole lot for you to explore! Thanks for sharing your visit.
I would love to see the New Year's Ball. (I'm assuming that's the pretty thing featured in the first photo?) I would DEFINITELY stay far away from things like the room of torture devices! Things like that scare me too much, and it's not the kind of thing I want to see. But as your post shows, it looks like Ripley's has plenty of other things to enjoy!

    1. Yes, the first picture is the New Year's Ball, and it's even more amazing in person. Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and for your comment.
