I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

In New York

1) A Walk in the Moon

A WALK ON THE MOON is a stirring new musical about dreams differed and one women’s desire for a life that isn’t strictly earthbound. Set in the Summer of 1969 against a blend of pulse-pounding ‘60s sounds with modern pop sensibilities, this story speaks to a moment when the world was alive with seismic change in culture and identity — much like today.

2) Build the Wall

Written in 2016 and set in what was then imagined as the near future of 2019, Building The Wall presents themes audiences may find startlingly familiar in 2026, as immigration raids, detention center controversies, deportation crackdowns, and questions surrounding civil liberties dominate headlines across the United States.

3) Camping

This is a love story. It’s hands that smell of Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue after days spent clutching fistfulls of her hair. It’s the rain hitting the earth in a way that reminds you of blood, that makes you think the world's holding a knife to your underwear. It’s the spins. It’s running out of air because you gulped too much of it while you were sobbing. It’s waking up hot and sticky. It’s desperately falling in love with your best friend inside a camping tent while everything outside rages.

In Victoria Lynne Barclay’s Camping, Brit and Ari collide over and over again, reaching for each other across the fractures that are born of time and distance. Three decades. One tent. A million things left unsaid.

25) EDEN PLEPLER

IN

“SONGS THAT CARRIED ME”

AN EVENING CELEBRATING RESILIENCE;

TIMELESS MUSIC FROM A NEW VOICE

AT 54 BELOW, BROADWAY’S SUPPER CLUB ON

TUESDAY, JUNE 9 AT 9:30PM

54 Below, Broadway’s Supper Club, presents Eden Plepler in “Songs That Carried Me” on Tuesday, June 9 at 9:30 pm. Actor and vocalist Eden Plepler makes her 54 Below debut with an unforgettable evening that is equal parts celebration and homecoming. After facing a cancer diagnosis at the beginning of her senior year at NYU—navigating chemotherapy while completing her degree—Eden found strength and healing in the music that carried her through one of the most challenging, and ultimately empowering, chapters of her life.

Songs That Carried Me is not about illness but about what comes after: resilience, renewed artistry, and love for the music that shaped her.

Featuring a mix of jazz, pop, and musical theater, the evening draws from a repertoire that is both timeless and personal. From the elegance of the American Songbook—Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon,” “In a Sentimental Mood,” and “I’ve Got a Crush on You”—to beloved songs by Barbra Streisand, Laufey, and Billie Eilish, Plepler weaves together an only-in-New York evening that that is classic, intimate, and unmistakably her own.

Eden Plepler in “Songs That Carried Me” plays 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 9:30pm. Cover charges are $19.50 (includes $4.50 in fees) – $52.50 (includes $7.50 in fees). VIP Seating is $63.50 (includes $8.50 in fees). Premiums are $85.50 (includes $10.50 in fees). There is a $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.org. 30) Rikud Studio Announces Summer Camps

Reimagining Dance Education Through Street and Club Dance

June 15-August 14, 2026

607 Vanderbilt Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

Rikud Studio announced today their 2026 summer camp offerings, running nine weeks from June 15 through August 14. The studio is located in Prospect Heights, at 607 Vanderbilt Avenue, reimagining dance education through street and club dance and challenging the long-standing assumption that ballet must be the starting point of children's dance education. Rikud Studio focuses exclusively on street and club dance forms including breaking, hip-hop, and house. Located roughly a ten-minute walk from Barclays Center, the studio has enrolled more than 165 students in its first two months and now offers 30 weekly classes serving children, teens, and adults. Rikud operates on an intentionally alternative model with no mirrors, no ballet, and no recitals.

Camp hours are 8:30AM-3PM, with extended day options available from 3-5PM for additional charge. Three and six month payment plans are available to parents with a $1,000 deposit; payments can also be made weekly with a $350 deposit. For more information about signing up for camp, please visit here.
