Mom's view: If you don't know anything about Anne Frank, by all means, go and see this musical and you will learn a little bit about her. If you are familiar with Anne Frank through reading her diary and/or seeing the play or the movie, The Diary of Anne Frank, you may find this version of her story disappointing. The voices are all beautiful in this musical telling of her story. However, you don't really feel like you get to know Anne or any of the other characters either as there is very little character development. Nevertheless, any version of Anne's story is important as is any version of the story of any other victim of the holocaust or the story of any victim of any other similiar tragedy. We must remember what the world is capable of to try to keep it from happening again. If even one person learns about Anne and her story through this musical than that is a good thing. Yet, if you really want to know about Anne Frank and her story read her diary and/or go and see the original play. If you want to hear a concert about her sung by talented singers, go and see this show.
And that's Mom's view.
