I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Still More Theater Saturday - Cirque Dreams Holidaze

We were given free tickets to Cirque Dreams Holidaze for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Cirque Dreams Holidaze

Where: State Theatre New Jersey
            15 Livingston Ave.
            New Brunswick, NJ

Who: All ages

When: This event occurred on Sunday December 9, 2018

Me - Cirque Dreams Holidaze is a combination of a show like Cirque Du Soleil and a regular circus. The group also does other shows but this particular show revolves around the holiday of Christmas. A lot of the acts had the holiday theme somehow incorporated into them. There were characters that were gingerbread men, candy canes and more. Also, there were singers who sang Christmas songs.   I really liked the show. It was really cool. It was a lot better than the Cirque Du Soleil related show I saw last year which was boring. That one was put on by a different group. This one was much more enjoyable. There were a lot of a spectacular acts in this show that  were very exciting. One of my favorites was a magic act where they kept changing costumes. Even though I have seen a similiar act in other circuses here it was different because the man changed costumes a few times too and not just the woman. Also, one time she changed costumes just when sparkles were thrown in front of her. That was cool! I love sparkles! I would definitely love to see another Cirque Dreams show.

Mom - Cirque Dreams Holidaze is a fun holiday themed show for all ages. Cirque Dreams is a group similar to Cirque Du Soliel but they are not part of Cirque Du Soleil nor  are they related to Cirque Du Soleil in any way. While, there is a lot of high flying acrobatics like in a Cirque Du Soleil show in a Cirque Dreams show, this group also incorporates elements that are usually found in more  traditional type circuses like jugglers, contortionists, and more. In this particular show, even the most traditional of acts is presented in a whole new way by giving it a holiday spin. There are jump roping reindeer, flipping gingerbread men, flying angels and so on. Each act is more incredible than the next. Even acts that from the title and/or description you would think would be kind of boring are not at all that way, for instance, the jump ropers. The tricks they can do with a rope are just amazing. Another way, this show is different from other similar shows is that instead of being accompanied merely by unimportant background music, the acts are all accompanied by one or more of a trio of live singers performing various Christmas songs. All in all, the show is a nonstop blast from start to finish.
