If your family is anything like ours and your bed is big enough than sometimes its fun to just lie on a bed together early in the morning or early in the evening. Here are ten fun things you can do while lying on a bed with your kids none of which involve watching TV or jumping on the bed.
1. Play iSpy - One of you selects an object in the room. The other have to guess it. Take turns selecting the objects and guessing.
2. Play guess the number - One of you selects a number within a range of numbers that you agree on. The others taking turns guessing numbers. If the number guessed is not the number selected, the person who selected the number must indicate whether the number guessed is higher or lower than the number selected. Keep taking turns guessing until the correct number is guessed. Then, someone else gets to select a number.
3. Play the alphabet room game. Look for an object in the room that starts with A. Look for an object in the room that starts with B. See how far in the alphabet you can get. It is okay to skip letters if you cannot find an object in the room that starts with that letter especially if it is a hard letter like Q or X.
4. Play the room number game. Look for one of something. Look for two of something. Look for three of something. Go as high as you can go or decide in advance how high to go.
5. Play the color game. See how many different colors you can find in the room
6. Tell jokes .Takes turns telling riddles, jokes and/or knock knock jokes.
7. Tell stories. Take turns making up stories or make up one together.
8. Use your imagination. Close your eyes and let your imagination run wild. Tell each other what you see.
9. Tell ghost stories. Turn off the light or get under the covers and tell ghost stories.
10. Snuggle. Just snuggle up under the blanket. This is an especially fun thing to do on a really cold day.
