Our view: Terhune Orchards Fall Family Fun Weekend while not as extensive as some farm's fall activities that we have previously been to was still a lot of fun. All the basic elements of a typical Fall Festival can be found here all for the low cost of $5.00 per person with no additional charge for parking. Children 3 and under are free. There are cute farm animals including goats, sheep and birds. There is a corn maze. The maze can be particularly muddy though as it was the day we were there so if you go we would recommend wearing old clothes and shoes. Also, the paths of the maze were very narrow so we wouldn't recommend it for people who are especially claustrophobic. There is a pumpkin patch, and there are also several other places to buy pumpkins aside from the pumpkin patch. In the other locations, the pumpkins are nicely organized by size and the prices are clearly marked by signs. One nice thing about the pumpkins especially for young children is that if you purchase a pumpkin that is under 5 pounds you can paint it for free right on the premises. If your pumpkin is larger than 5 pounds, you can still paint it, but in that case you have to pay to paint it. There is no hayride, but there is a wagon ride. The wagon ride is kind of bumpy and uncomfortable, but luckily it is not very long. There was also a Barn of Legends celebrating the four seasons of the year the highlight of which was four scarecrows made up to look like the musical group, Frank Valli and the Four Seasons. There is also live music on the premises, but of course, not provided by Frank Valli or The Four Seasons or any other well known band. If you get hungry, there is lots of delicious food available for purchase including: hotdogs, macaroni and cheese, pulled pork, corn muffins and apple cider donuts.Other things available for purchase include pony rides, face painting, and cowboy and cowgirl hats. For more information about Terhune Orchards go to http://www.terhuneorchards.com/. Reservations are not required and tickets can only be purchased at the Orchards.
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for more about Terhune Orchards Family Fun Weekends.
