I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Tips for Tuesday - Books: My Wife is Missing & Movies: Just Swipe

We may have been given complimentary copies for review purposes of any books and/or products mentioned below as well as complimentary access to any audio and/or visual media mentioned. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: My Wife Is Missing

Today we are talking about My Wife is Missing by D.J. Palmer. On a visit to New York City, Michael Hart goes to pick up a pizza and returns to find his wife and kids missing. A security camera reveals that they left willingly. Michael sets out to find them even at the cost of possibly exposing some dark secrets from his past while his wife, Natalie is intent on disappearing because of what she thinks she knows about her husband. This engrossing book moves along at a breakneck speed. Even with chapters that alternate between Michael and Natalie's points of view, you still don't know exactly what is going on which keeps it interesting. However, it seems like if these two people just would have communicated with each other and been honest with each other, none of this would have happened which makes it hard to root for either of them. Also, some parts of the plot seem implausible and/or a little too coincidental. Plus, the end is unsatisfying on two levels after everything thing that happens it seems unlikely that things would just be able to move forward so quickly as though nothing happened and a big part of the resolution of the story hinges on something that is only mentioned in passing once.

Movies: Just Swipe

Today we are recommending Just Swipe. This is a movie about a couple, Brandon and Vanessa, that meet-cute over Zoom during the pandemic and quickly form a relationship. However, he may not have been completely honest with her and what she learns about him could be a dealbreaker for her. This movie is a lesson about not getting caught up in superficial things and how it's what's inside that counts. Brandon is the perfect guy. He is so kind and caring and would do anything not only for Vanessa but for her friends as well. It is so sweet the way he fits right into her friend group and is there for them even when things do not seem to be going well for he and Vanessa. He and Vanessa are such a cute couple that you can't help rooting for them. Anyone who is a sucker for a sweet romantic movie will definitely enjoy this one.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
