Theater Thursday - Sukkot

Who: Recommended for Ages 8 and Up

When: Through August 9, 2026

Three grown children visit their widowed father for their mother's unveiling. Although their father is not Jewish, their mother was. The father learns that the holiday of Sukkot coincides with the unveiling and that it is the only holiday in which God directly commands us to rejoice. He decides to build a sukkah (a hut) in his yard and insists that his family celebrate the holiday even though they have never heard of it.

This show, featuring an all-around excellent cast, perfectly captures the essence of what it's like to be part of a family in all its messiness. It's about the little joys, the great sorrows, the angry moments, the forgiveness, and so much more. Alternately funny, heartbreaking, and heartwarming, sometimes even more than one at the same time, it's an emotional roller coaster ride. However. much like being part of a loving family, in the end it's all worth it. You won't want to miss this beautiful show!
