I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Mom's view: School House Rock the Vote at Feinstein's/54 Below was a fun evening with a serious purpose at its core to remind and encourage everyone to vote. A group of talented performers got together and sang songs from the beloved 70's short cartoons series, School House Rock, whose purposes was to teach kids about math, language arts, history, civics and more in a fun way. Although the evening and many of the songs focused on voting and other political and civic related songs including such beloved classics as I'm Just A Bill, I'm Going to Send Your Vote to College and The Great American Melting Pot, other favorite songs were also included in the set, such as, Three is A Magic Number, Interjection, and Interplanet Janet. A few of the songs were updated just enough to make them relevant to today without changing their focus and/or their tone. For instance, today the issue of gender can be a lot more complicated than simply whether one is a male or a female so a verse was added to the pronoun song to reflect that. Whether you grew up on these songs and the show was a big nostaglia trip for you or you never heard them before, the whole evening was a joy and a tuneful reminder of what makes this country great and why we should get out there and vote to keep it that way (or maybe in some ways to try to get it back that way) So don't forget to GET OUT THERE AND VOTE tomorrow!
