I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Giveaway: Win a copy of The Secret History of Audrey James in the Raindrops on Roses Giveaway Hop!

Welcome to the Raindrops on Roses Giveaway Hop

hosted by Mama the Fox and Mom Does Reviews

April has definitely been living up to its rainy reputation so far in our area. Of course, as Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, "Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall." Unfortunately, sometimes more than a little falls either figuratively or quite literally.

Living through a war is like being at the center of a fierce and unrelenting storm. In the novel, The Secret History of Audrey James, the characters live through the horrific deluge of World War II.  Audrey's best friend, Ilise, is Jewish, although Audrey herself is not. However, Audrey is determined to do what she must to keep her friend alive and safe through the war.

In a different timeline, she tells her story to Kate, a woman who has recently lived through her own rainstorm in this gripping novel by Heather Marshall. For more about this book, see our previous post, Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Secret History of Audrey James. Enter to win a copy below:
