Theater Thursday- The History Mystery and Unnecessary Farce

We were given free tickets to the History Mystery for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Me -The History Mystery was a good show. It was about kids that  didn't like having to learn about history. Then, they traveled back in time and visited different famous people, such as, Eleanor Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr., Orville & Wilbur Wright, and a couple more too. They learned that history can be interesting, and it is not as boring as they thought in the beginning. The acting was good. It was one of my favorite shows that I have seen at TADA! Youth Theater. The singing was good. I liked a lot of the songs.  I don't remember them right now though so I can't pick a favorite.   I didn't have a favorite character either. I liked the costumes, and the sets were nice too. I liked the way they blinked the lights to show they were traveling back in time. That was cool! The show seemed so short. It was so good that it went by quickly. Over all, it was a really good show, and I would really recommend that you go and see it.

Mom - The History Mystery, the latest offering by TADA! Youth Theater's young acting troop is definitely one of their best. This entertaining show is about three kids who travel back in time and meet up with famous people, such as, Eleanor Roosevelt and Martin Luther King Jr. when they were just kids themselves before they became famous. One young girl even meets up with her own grandmother as a young girl. This timely show teaches kids that history matters, and that every person can make a difference. It does so in TADA!'s usual song-filled entertaining way making it a great show for all ages. The show is not very long either at just under an hour making it perfect for young children's short attention spans. All in all, the show is another great opportunity to see talented kids who may be the rising stars of tomorrow perform today.

I have been given a ticket to Unnecessary Farce for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are my own.

Mom - Unnecessary Farce at Kelsey Theatre is an entertaining show especially if you like bedroom farces. It is about a couple of cops on surveillance at a hotel trying to get evidence against an allegedly corrupt mayor. While the show has the typical conventions of a bedroom farce, such as, mistaken identities, slammed doors, and people in various state of undress, it was not completely predictable. There were some unusual elements to the plot including  a cop who carries a water gun instead of a real gun and a hitman who can only kill people when he has played a song on his bag pipes (of course, nobody is really killed, nobody gets killed in a bedroom farce). The plot had some surprising twists as well which kept the show interesting. All in all, it is a pleasant way to spend an evening. The show will be playing for one more weekend.
