I started this blog with one daughter, kept it up with the other, to spend time together doing something we enjoyed.
However, things change and people evolve. My daughters are older, busier, and not as interested in writing.
From now on this blog will be mostly mom with occasional contributions from my daughters and maybe even my husband.
Nothing else will change. We'll still focus on sharing fun places to go, fun things to do, and more, and we would  still love to hear your views too

Where-To-Go Wednesday - Real Clothes, Real Lives: 200 Years of What Women Wore

We were given complimentary tickets to the New York Historical for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Real Clothes, Real Lives 200 Years of What Women Wore

Where: The New York Historical
             170 Central Park W.
             New York, NY

Who: All ages

When: Through June 22, 2025

The current exhibit at the New York Historical, Real Clothes, Real Lives: 200 Years of What Women Wore, examines the evolution of women's clothing from the 19th through the 20th century. These are not the fancy garments of rich people but rather the everyday clothes of ordinary women. It includes both working and nonworking clothes. It traces how styles varied depending on factors including race, socioeconomic background, and more as well as the technology available at the time.  Items on display include fast food, uniforms, quinceañera gowns, everyday dresses, and much more.

If you visited before the middle of January, you'll definitely want to go again. Due to light sensitivity, a number of the items that were previously on display have been removed from the collection. Thus, many new items have been added.*

And that's our view. For more information or to purchase tickets online, visit www.nyhistory.org/exhibitions/real-clothes-real-lives-200-years-of-what-women-wore

Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
