22) TWO RIVER THEATER LAUNCHES NEWLY REIMAGINED EDUCATION PROGRAM,

TINY SHAKES: ROMEO AND JULIET

TO BE RELEASED MAY 17, RESERVE FREE TICKETS NOW AT TWORIVERTHEATER.ORG

Audiences can now reserve their free tickets to Two River Theater’s Tiny Shakes: Romeo and Juliet, co- directed by Aneesha Kudtarkar and Em Weinstein. This newly reimagined theatrical collage created from Two River’s popular education program, A Little Shakespeare, will be released May 17 and available until June 30/2021 through Two River’s website.

For seven years, Two River Theater has produced A Little Shakespeare, a 75-minute cut of a Shakespeare play directed and designed by theater professionals, and performed and supported backstage by high school students. This season, the program used the limitations of 2021 as a unique opportunity for students to delve deeply into the play and give them the agency to tell the story in their own way, filming scenes from home. Over the course of the program, 21 students partnered with industry professionals to learn more about acting, visual design, music, fight choreography, and filmmaking. The result is an eclectic and energetic production of Romeo and Juliet featuring original music, TikTok dances, FaceTime calls, and more.

23) Immersive Theater Hit Announces
 Summer Dates
VOYEUR: THE WINDOWS OF TOULOUSE-LAUTREC

Tickets now on sale thru July 31, 2021

Bated Breath Theatre Company announces another extension of its live hit VOYEUR: THE WINDOWS OF TOULOUSE-LAUTREC through July 31, 2021. The show originally began performances in September 2020 and has been running ever since, making it the biggest theatrical success story of the 2020-2021 season.

VOYEUR is an open air, immersive theatrical experience that guides an intimate eight-person audience through the dreams of iconic artist Toulouse-Lautrec as he recalls his final absinthe-laced years living and working in Montmartre. It is a unique blend of theater, dance, art, walking tour, live music, opera and puppetry. The sidewalks, doorways and windows of Greenwich Village become the setting for VOYEUR as live accompaniment collides with the city’s soundscape, transporting attendees into the bohemian world of 1899 Paris.

In an effort to maintain additional safety during the Covid-19 pandemic, audience members will be required to wear a mask at all times and maintain a safe social distance for the duration of the performance. This immersive performance is hosted primarily outdoors, with one short venture indoors into a spacious atmosphere capable of safe social distancing. A flexible ticket exchange policy will be offered to those who may feel ill in order to facilitate responsible event participation. Audience members are asked to check local weather forecasts and dress accordingly.

VOYEUR: THE WINDOWS OF TOULOUSE-LAUTREC runs September 30, 2020 – July 31, 2021. The performance begins at The Duplex, 61 Christopher Street at 7th Avenue South. Performances run Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm – 9:30pm with shows scheduled every half hour. Running time is approximately 1 hour. Audience members must be able to climb one flight of stairs and be on their feet for the duration of the performance. Tickets range from $69 - $99. Visit www.unmakinglautrecplay.com for times, tickets and further details.
