Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Book of Awesome Women Writers & The Amelia Moore Mysteries: Volume 2

We may have been given a complimentary copy of one or more of the books and/or other products mentioned below for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Book: The Book of Awesome Writers and The Amelia Moore Mysteries: Volume 2

Mom - Today I am recommending two books.

The first book I am recommending  today is The Book of Awesome Women Writers by Becca Anderson. The list of writers included in this book is not exhaustive. If you are an avid reader there is a good chance that you can think of one or more authors you think should have been included in this book. However, the list is quite extensive, and it is quite awe inspiring to learn what some of these women had to go through in order to be able to make use of their talents and share their awesome writing gifts with the world. Some of these women may surprise you  like Enheduanna, the first recorded writer of either gender. Some you may never have heard of before like Madame Roland or Saint Teresa of Avila . Others are quite well known like Mary Shelly and J.K. Rowling. Collectively, these women have received numerous literary awards and more importantly shared a plethora of irresistible and unforgettable literary gems of all types and genres. Reading about these women just may encourage to share your  own gifts with the world whether your talents lie in writing or something else.

Amelia Moore Mysteries: Volume 2 by [Linda Weaver Clarke]

The second book I am recommending today is The Amelia Moore Mysteries: Volume 2 by Linda Weaver Clark. This second book in the the Amelia Moore series is just as enticing as the first. The two cases is this volume are interesting but even more delightful or at least equally delightful is the sweet repartee between the two main characters, Amelia Moore and Rick Bonito. Their rapidly developing romantic relationship is even more adorable in this book than in the first book in the series. Of course, there is more to the book than just their relationship. There is a mystery to be solved, two of them in fact. The first involves a missing doll; the second a missing person. In this volume both cases take place in the United States but the descriptions of the locations are equally as thorough as to make you feel as though you have visited these locations as well. All in all, the book is a fine sequel to the first book in the series. For more about the first book in the series, see our previous post Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Amelia Moore Mysteries: Volume 1. Check back in later today to enter to win a copy of Volume 1. We will be talking about the third book in the series in a future post.

And that's Mom's view. Tune in tomorrow for What-To-Do Wednesday.
