Music: Disney Dreamin' with Matthew Morrison
Me - Today I am recommending Disney Dreamin' With Matthew Morrison. This is a really fun CD. It is full of new jazzy versions of beloved Disney songs. There are so many great songs I can't even pick a favorite. Some I especially enjoy, however, include Friend Like Me and A Whole New World. Prior to listening to the CD, I was familiar with the original versions of most of the songs, but not all. However, even the songs I hadn't heard before I liked equally as well as the songs I was familiar with. In fact, there isn't a bad song on the CD. Although this CD is great for listening to with babies and small children, it is perfect for anyone of any age especially those who loves Disney or just great music in general.
Books: The Cut of Pride
Mom - Today I am talking about The Cut of Pride by James Misko. This is the story of Jeff Baker who goes to work at an Oregon mink farm to save money for college. There he meets a host of interesting but mostly unsavory characters. The book is very informative and really paints a vivid picture of what it is like to work on a mink farm. However, it might be a bit too descriptive for some people especially those that are particularly sensitive. If you find yourself looking away at movies quite often, you probably don't want to read this book. On the other hand, if you are not squeamish and you like a books about hardworking active characters, you may enjoy this book.
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
