103 Charlton St.
New York, NY

GAME ON!
Now through September 4, 2016
Cynthia Wainwright Gallery

Exhibiting Artists: Louisa Armbrust, Zoe Buckman, Dario Escobar, Michelle Grabner, Norm Paris, David Rathman, Christin Rose, Jean Shin, and Hank Willis Thomas

Children's Museum of the Arts is pleased to announce Game On!, an exhibition about our passion for sport and how it has defined our individual and collective identities. Throughout history, the world of games -with its inversions of mastery, dependence on chance and reliance on both verbal and physical play-has intrigued and inspired visual artists. Game On! presents works by contemporary artists who take a reflective, critical or inspired look at sport and how we play the game. Addressing issues of identity, power, heroism, nostalgia, popular culture and gender, Game On! highlights a variety of media that reminds us that within every ruled system, there exists potential for creativity and exploration

Bonnie and Clyde
June 17-26

It’s a love story that quickly spirals out of control into crime and violence – leading to only one possible ending. Pierrot Productions presents“Bonnie and Clyde, The Musical” at Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC’s) Kelsey Theatre Fridays, June 17 and 24 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 18 and 25 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 19 and 26 at 2 p.m.

Kelsey Theatre is located on MCCC’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night show on June 17.

It’s 1930s Texas in the midst of the Great Depression when young Bonnie Parker falls in love with Clyde Barrow, a criminal on the run.  Once they join forces in a series of store and bank robberies, the violence and body count start to rise. The ill-fated lovers soon find themselves at the top of the Public Enemies list – villains to many and folk heroes to some during desperate times.

This musical adaptation of the notorious couple features music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Don Black, and book by Ivan Menchell. Wildhorn describes the music as a "non-traditional score, combining rockabilly, blues and gospel."

THE THIRD IN HIS ‘REASONS’ TRILOGY, ONE-NIGHT-ONLY READING TO BENEFIT MCC’S EDUCATION AND PLAYWRIGHT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2016
AT THE LUCILLE LORTEL THEATRE

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) will present a world premiere reading of a new Neil LaBute play—the third in his ‘Reasons’ trilogy—entitled Reasons to be Pretty Happy.   The one-night-only reading, to be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 7PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, will benefit the nonprofit’s robust education and playwright development programs. Casting will be announced at a later date.  For more info, visit www.mcctheater.org.
Prices range from $100 for show-only tickets or $250/$350 for preferred/premium seating plus access to a special post-show reception with LaBute and the cast. For ticket inquiries, please contact the Events Team at (212) 727-7722 x232 or events@mcctheater.org.
On the night of their 20th anniversary high school reunion, Greg and Steph revisit their home town after having moved to New York. Kent and Carly are suspicious of their reasons for returning and the four friends dance (sometimes literally) through a series of encounters at their school gym as they try to rekindle old friendships, struggle with their futures (together and separately) and reveal secrets to one another that might have been better left buried beneath a pile of yearbooks.  Reasons to be Pretty Happy is a funny, sad, silly and sobering look at friendships and loves that have weathered and lasted for a long, long time--some even past their due dates.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Interim Executive Director; David McCoy, Chairman of the Board), celebrates Pride Month with the June installment of the game show for musical theater lovers, Tune in Time, presented by Amy Engelhardt and Heather Shields, hosted by Emily McNamara, with Musical Director Nate Buccieri and annoyingly insistent timekeeperSheila Head, and featuring celebrity guest judges drag performers Marti Gould CummingsJudy Darling and Brita Filter, on Monday evening, June 20, 2016 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter’s (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

In this “Musical Theater Olympics,” three teams of composers and lyricists who have never worked together are forced to collaborate – and to beat the clock.  Their task?  They must write a song for a new Broadway musical, the title of which is picked from a hatful of audience suggestions – and in a style determined by a spin of the dreaded Genre Wheel – all within 20 minutes!  Tune in Time is an evening of edge-of-your-seat suspense, brain-frying bravery, and musical theatre magnificence.  Each edition of Tune in Time features a different roster of musical theater composers and lyricists as well as a panel of celebrity judges.
General Admission tickets for Tune in Time are priced at $20 and can be purchased online at www.yorktheatre.com, or by visiting the York Theatre Company Box Office (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue), or by calling the Box Office at (212) 935-5820 during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
