The 2026 NEXTstage Repertory Summer Season Internship is offered in three core areas of focus: Technical Theatre, Arts Administration/Performance, and Production/Stage Management. In each area of focus, interns will partner with industry professionals, including CSC resident staff and professional guest artists, in a hands-on practical learning environment.  Interns will gain real world first-hand experience in a professional setting, refining and learning new skills.  Whether seeking to further their theatre arts education in a higher learning institution or taking the plunge into a professional career, the internship provides candidates with a strong foundational understanding of the rigors of working within the professional industry.

Technical and Production/Stage Management focused students will have the opportunity to work resident and guest designers, within CSC production shops, as well as various production & crew assignments for the 2026 Summer Series of events.  Arts Administration/Performance focused students will have the opportunity to work in the CSC administrative offices, as well as audition for the 2026 summer season.  Although the internship makes every effort to provide performance opportunities to those interested, casting it is based on auditions and not guaranteed.

To apply, interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and a letter of recommendation from their high school drama teacher or a theatre professional.  Materials may be sent electronically to Centenary Stage Company General Manager, Christopher Young at Christopher.young@centenaryuniversity.edu. Hard materials may be mailed to:

2) Mrs. Christie

Mrs. Christie is a play that celebrates writers, womanhood, and the stories that shape our lives. In 1926, famed author Agatha Christie vanished for 11 days, reappearing without explanation. The real-life case of the “Missing Mrs. Christie” became a tabloid sensation, though the circumstances behind her disappearance remain unclear. Nearly 100 years later, a devoted superfan uncovers clues that may finally crack the case, launching a coming-of-age journey of memory and self-discovery with the suspense and delight of a classic mystery.

4) Come and Knock Down My Door

Come and Knock Down My Door is a riotous political-situation comedy in two acts. It’s January 7th, 2021. The U.S is still in the throes of a deadly Pandemic, and the 2020 Presidential Race has yet to be conceded. After “Storming the Capitol,” Pablo, a freewheeling pot dealer, returns from Washington, DC to the Lower East Side apartment he shares with his liberal roommates; James, an African American musician, and Mina, his Russian speaking girlfriend. Hilarity ensues, misunderstandings abound, and their world nearly spirals into chaos as Pablo’s roommates fear the FBI will come and knock down their door….

Blending clown, character comedy, and audience participation, the show follows Lizzy, a relentlessly optimistic performer determined to keep her show—and her reality—intact, even as everything begins to unravel. When her onstage partner fails to appear, Lizzy turns to the audience to help carry the performance forward, creating a chaotic and deeply human theatrical experience.

16) AMERICAN CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA PERFORMS SEASON FINALE FEATURING

MOZART’S PIANO CONCERTO NO. 17 AND BEETHOVEN’S SYMPHONY NO. 3 “EROICA”

AT ALICE TULLY HALL ON TUESDAY, MAY 5

Soloist is Pianist Matthew Figel in his Lincoln Center Debut

Founder and Artistic Director Thomas Crawford leads the American Classical Orchestra (ACO), New York City’s foremost period instrument orchestra, in its final concert this season at Alice Tully Hall on Tuesday, May 5. The program begins with soloist Matthew Figel, making his Lincoln Center debut, in a fortepiano performance of Mozart’s Concerto No. 17. Winner of the Eastman Concerto Competition, he is one of the youngest students to solo with the Eastman Philharmonia in the school’s 100-year history. The evening closes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, considered as the composer’s first truly Romantic symphony and recognized as a revolutionary work in symphonic literature.

Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 17 in G Major, K. 453

Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 55, “Eroica”

Mozart’s Concerto No. 17 was written for Mozart’s student, Barbara Ployer. Soon after the work’s popular first performance, Mozart came across a bird-seller with a starling that sang something like the theme of the finale. He purchased the bird as a pet and honored it with a funeral when it died. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 is a work that not only challenged every convention of Classical symphony writing, but also laid the foundation for the passionate sounds of the Romantic era to come. Originally titled “Bonaparte” in honor of Napoleon as First Consul, Beethoven changed the title of the final published score to “Sinfonia Eroica,” a memorial to the heroic ideal rather than any individual.

Tickets, priced at $75, $55, and $35, are available at aconyc.org, by calling ACO at (212) 362-2727, ext.4, or by visiting lincolncenter.org or calling CenterCharge at 212.721.6500.

IS CRY YOU CRY’N?

By Dhari Noel

Directed by Marissa Joyce Stamps

Monday May 11 at 6:30pm

Grace is staging a green-card wedding: Tashie–recently coming from Trinidad with her son Likkle–is marrying her Americanized "cousin” Nap. Nap is bringing his "friend" as a witness. Four fraternity pledges are preparing for their last night of hell week before becoming full-fledged brothers: they make dances, crack jokes, and test one another. Both stories take place in the same basement, blurring the lines of identity, time, and belonging. “If cat mek kitten in an oven does that make it bun?” is a Trini saying our mothers might tell us when we dare suggest we are not really Trini. Is Cry You Cry'n? is about the dream this proverb aspires to make real.

AT THE CONFLUENCE OF CREEKS

By Sam Mueller

Monday May 18 at 6:30pm

Caleb is back at his family’s hunting cabin in rural Wyoming for the first time in a decade. He hasn't been since he came out as trans but his estranged brother, Cain, has invited Caleb to come along for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to hunt a bighorn sheep. Little do they know, there's a bighorn sheep nearby pulling off his limbs and morphing into a man. The brothers are too busy collapsing under the weight of things they won't say to each other to notice they might be the ones being hunted. At The Confluence of Creeks is a play that asks just how much weight an olive branch can withstand

21) Rikud Studio Open in Prospect Heights

Reimagining Dance Education Through Street and Club Dance

Rikud Studio opens in Prospect Heights, reimagining dance education through street and club dance and challenging the long-standing assumption that ballet must be the starting point of children's dance education. Rikud Studio focuses exclusively on street and club dance forms including breaking, hip-hop, and house. Located roughly a ten-minute walk from Barclays Center, the studio has enrolled more than 165 students in its first two months and now offers 30 weekly classes serving children, teens, and adults. Rikud operates on an intentionally alternative model with no mirrors, no ballet, and no recitals.

Instruction draws from the established foundations of street and club dance–such as bouncing, rocking and grooving- and including breaking fundamentals such as toprock, footwork, power, freezes while bringing your own unique style to the table. The studio offers classes for all ages. Their most popular class is “Littles,” a caregiver-and-child dance party that introduces young children to the foundations of street dance.

Rikud’s philosophy reflects a broader movement within dance education–refocusing training on foundational movement principles, improvisation, and cultural context rather than performance. Many dance educators have grown concerned that social media is making dancers focus solely on short-form tricks, acrobatics, and visually sensational choreography, sometimes at the expense of musicality, groove, texture, and emotional expression.

All classes are taught by working professional dancers and choreographers, and the studio prioritizes instructors who remain active performers within their communities. Rikud’s Master Teacher is Andrew Carter, well known in the dance community as Dr. Ew, a professional B-boy and choreographer.

Rikud’s summer camp is a collaboration with HereNow Cultural Space in Bed-Stuyvesant. They will connect campers directly to the area’s cultural history through neighborhood tours, graffiti arts, hip-hop, breaking, and DJ instruction. Rikud serves longtime Brooklyn residents, young families, and newcomers. The studio also hosts breaking battles and community dance events throughout the year, including an upcoming kids breaking battle in partnership with the New York Collective and a family dance party with local-legends Saint James Joy.

Scholarships are available – for more information, email info@rikudstudio.com.

This spring, the continued transformation includes a multi-season garden around the Zoo’s top location to relax and recharge, Backyard Kitchen and the SEPTA PZ Express Train. At the Zoo’s main entrance, the team will be planting new beds featuring a carefully selected mix of sun and shade species, with a strong emphasis on native plants that enhance ecological diversity while maintaining visual appeal.

New Limited Time Specialty Garden Tours

To celebrate spring and give guests a brand-new way to experience the historic grounds, the Zoo will be offering semi-private garden tours every Tuesday and Saturday from April 18 through May 31. These hour-long tours are led by knowledgeable docents and weave together horticulture, history and habitats. This tour will highlight the plants that shape the garden, the people and events that shaped its past, and the diverse habitats that support birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. This tour offers a rich look at the connections between gardens and the world around them through the lens of historic Philadelphia Zoo.
