Me - This is New York 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture is a very absorbing exhibit. It is a collection of different works of art that feature New York. They include pictures and clips from different movies and TV shows set in the City as well as books, songs, and more.

There was one room that had a bunch of different books and video cases of TV shows. If you took one and put it on a certain spot on the table, it would project a scene from that book or TV show onto the wall. It was fascinating and enjoyable to interact with.

There was another area where there was a map of the boroughs of New Yori City on the floor. Each time you stepped on one of the boroughs, it would play clips of different songs that had to do with that borough. It also projected a map of the borough along with information about the song.on the wall.

There were a lot of other fun things to do and interesting objects on display as well. On the whole, the exhibit is highly engaging and an overall good time.

Mom -  New York City has been the venue for numerous examples of popular entertainment including movies, books, songs, and more. The current exhibit, This is New York, at the Museum of the City of New York, celebrates the special relationship between the city and a wide array of popular culture.  Here you can view and/or listen to snippets from movies, TV shows, books, songs, and more from the past 100 years. You can also see numerous related pictures and memorabilia from them as well.

Even if you are just visiting New York City for the first time unless you are a very young child, the exhibit is sure to awaken at least some degree of nostalgia in you. It reminds us that New York City is so much more than just a place. It's been an almost mythical part of the zeitgeist for more than 100 years. You definitely won't want to miss this exciting, fun, and extremely interactive exhibit.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
