Good Vibrations: A Punk Rock Musical is the story of Terri Hooley who was instrumental in the development of the Punk rock scene in Belfast. He was responsible for giving a number of well-known punk bands including The Undertones and The Outcasts their starts. He wasn't a very good person, however, at least not according to this musical. He wasn't there for his family. He mismanaged his business including his record company to the detriment of his bands although you can learn more about the latter from his biography than from this show. He is more of an anti-hero than a hero, but if you don't mind an unlikable extremely flawed human being at the center of a story, you may enjoy this show.

You will also enjoy this show if you are a fan of punk rock and/or its history. You will not only get to learn about the beginnings of some of your favorite bands, you may even get to hear some of your favorite songs. Songs in the show include Just Another Teenage Rebel, Happy House, Teenage Kicks, and more. If you are not a fan of punk rock and/or especially if you are not a fan of loud music then this is definitely not the show for you. If you are not familiar with the music in the show or punk rock in general, you can still enjoy it if you don't mind very loud music.  It is also often hard to distinguish the lyrics while they are singing due to the strong Irish accents. It is true, however, that indistinguishable lyrics are not a problem that is unique to punk rock, musical theater, and/or singers with strong accents. Still, if that bothers you, it may hinder your enjoyment of this show.
