Where-To-Go Wednesday - Mayflower II

We were given complimentary tickets to Mayflower II for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

What: Mayflower II

Where: 137 Warren Ave.
            Plymouth, MA

Who: All ages

Me - Visiting the Mayflower II was both entertaining and educational. It is a ship that is a replica of the original Mayflower. By visiting this ship, you can learn about the types of people that made the journey on the original ship, and what their experiences were like. Other things you can learn are the difficulties they faced while traveling, and the reasons some of them didn't survive the trip. You can also learn a lot more about the ship and those who traveled on it. It was an interesting place to visit and more fun than learning about the Mayflower in school. I would definitely recommend visiting.

Mom - Mayflower II is a full-scale replica of the original. You can visit the ship and learn about what it was really like on the Mayflower. For one thing, it is a lot smaller than you probably thought. There is also an exhibit that further explores what life was really like as a pilgrim traveling on the ship. To make your visit even more authentic as you go through the exhibit you take on the persona of a specific pilgrim and follow their journey. This is achieved by selecting a small slip of paper describing a specific pilgrim as you enter the exhibit and following the color-coded signs that match your slip of paper as you move around it. This makes your visit to the Mayflower II even more fascinating, informative, and fun.

And that's our view. For more about the Mayflower II or to purchase tickets, visit plimoth.org/plan-your-visit/explore-our-sites/mayflower-ii?
