Tips for Tuesday - Books: The Impostor & Movies: Gigi & Nate

We may have been given complimentary copies and/or access for review purposes to any products, and/or visual or audio media mentioned below. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: The Impostor

Today we are recommending Imposter by Bradeigh Godfrey. Lillian and her younger sister, Rosie have been estranged since the tragic death of their parents. Now, Rosie has contacted Lillian, and she has something important to say but before she can say it, the two of them are in a car accident on an icy road. Although Lillian is okay, Rosie suffers a traumatic brain injury. Not only does Lillian not know what Rosie wanted to tell her,  Rosie doesn't even recognize her, and to top it all off it seems like someone may have intentionally caused their accident.

This is an exciting book with a really clever plot. There are some really unique twists, and you can actually learn something about a particular kind of brain injury by reading this book. Lillian is a very admirable character in her fierce devotion to her sister, but she is also dealing with her own issues which only makes her that much more relatable.

Movies: Nate & Gigi

Today we are recommending Gigi & Nate. Nate is an average teenage boy looking forward to college until a bout with meningitis leaves him a quadriplegic. At first, he is despondent, but then his support monkey Gigi changes his life, and he changes hers as well.  Although this seems like the kind of movie that would be based on someone's real-life story, there is no indication that this film is a true story. However, that doesn't make the movie any less poignant.  It is also exciting and has some interesting and unique plot twists. Although it may bear some similarity to other films of this type,  it is different enough to keep it interesting and not completely predictable.

Nate and Gigi is in theaters now. For more information check your local listings.

Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
