Just when you think you've seen every iteration of A Christmas Carol that there can possibly be along comes something new and completely different. In this version, the story is a mystery and Sherlock Holmes is the one who is being visited by ghosts. Scrooge is still a part of the story, but he's been murdered, and Sherlock Holmes has been called upon to solve the crime. If you are eager to get to the familiar part of the story with the three ghosts, you'll have to have a little patience. That doesn't happen until the second act. There are elements of the story that are taken from Sherlock Holmes stories  as well so those who are big fans of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's work should enjoy the show equally as well as Dickens fans. Overall, the two stories mesh up well, and it's a fairly enjoyable show even if you are able to guess whodunit before it is revealed.
