Theater Thursday- Fruma- Sarah (Waiting in the Wings)

Fruma Sarah (Waiting in the Wings) is the story of  Ariana, an experienced community theater actress waiting in the wings to make her entrance as Fruma-Sarah in a local production of Fiddler on the Roof. She is used to being alone for the hour until she is able to make her entrance, but on this night a no-nonsense substitute fly captain waits with her so she has a chance to gripe, complain, reminiscence, and finally expose a deeper side of herself than she normally displays. The play can be funny, sad, and at times extremely dark. Accordingly,  I wouldn't recommend it for anyone younger than16. The show stars Jackie Hoffman who coincidentally pre-pandemic most recently played the role of Yente, the matchmaker, in the Yiddish version of Fiddler on the Roof and Kelly Kinsella, who among other things has had an extensive career performing solo shows. Both are perfect for their roles. Anyone who has ever felt alone or like things are not going completely like you would want them to go can relate to this play.
