Books: Love at First

Today we are recommending Love At First by Kate Clayborn. Will Sterling heard Nora Clarke's voice at the lowest point in his life and fell in love with it. Years later, he meets her when he inherits his uncle's apartment in the building where Nora is living in her late Grandmother's apartment. Will has no intention of living in the building but wants to use the apartment as a short-term rental which pits him against Nora and the other close-knit neighbors. Despite this, the two of them keep finding themselves drawn to each other, and they may even have more in common than it seems at first. This is a sweet slow-building romance about two people letting go of the traumas of their childhood and coming together to find love. Although Will and Nora are both clearly damaged characters, they are both so inherently likable that you can't help rooting for them especially when you understand the things that made them the way they are. The other characters in the novel are quirky and delightful. When you read this book, not only will it warm your heart, it will make you wish you could live in the warm and fuzzy world of the book where all the neighbors love and care about each other.

Movies: Dons of Disco

Today we are recommending Dons of Disco. The hoax perpetrated by Milli Vanilli is nothing compared to the story of Den Harrow. Den Harrow was a made-up character with a name that was made to sound like the Italian word for money denaro. Stefano Zandri was a good-looking young Italian who had the right dance movies and was popular with the ladies and was, therefore, chosen to portray Harrow. For years, he lip-synced to the songs that Tom Hooker, another singer, actually wrote and sang. Harrow was the biggest thing in European disco for years and nobody ever knew he wasn't the real deal until Tom got tired of being the unknown voice behind the face. However, even then it was not so easy to dispel the myth because Harrow had built up quite a following over the years and his rabid fans didn't want to give him up so easily. For more about this fascinating story, you are definitely going to want to catch the documentary Dons of Disco. It is absolutely riveting!

Don's of Disco is available now on  iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, and more via the Nacelle Company.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
