Where: Montclair Art Museum
            3 South Mountain Ave.
            Montclair, NJ

Who: All ages

When: Through June 21, 2021

We recently posted about Frederic Uribe's Animalia and More Animal Art at the Montclair Art Museum. Although the Frederic Uribe exhibit has now closed, today we will be talking about an exhibit that is still ongoing at the museum. Undaunted Spirit: Art of Native America is the current exhibit located in the museum's  Rand Gallery, which is devoted to the artwork of the indigenous people of the United States and Canada. This exhibit includes a wide variety of different works of art representing the way in which Native American art has changed over time. It ranges from more traditional works of art like pottery, masks, and baskets to more modern works of art like ornately decorated sneakers and painted skateboards. The majority of the artwork, both the more traditional and the more modern pieces, are characterized by beautiful colors and elaborate designs. Accordingly, even younger school-age children may enjoy viewing them.

The museum is currently open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. One-hour timed tickets must be purchased in advance online. Mask-wearing and social distancing are required at all times while visiting the museum. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to www.montclairartmuseum.org.

Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
