Where-To-Go Wednesday - Howell Living History Farm

What:
Howell Living History Farm

Where: 70 Wooden Lane
            Lambertville, NJ

 Who: All ages

Me - Howell Living History Farm was fun. We went on a scavenger hunt to fill out a crossword puzzle. It was interesting, and I learned a lot. I loved the animals best. There were horses. They were really beautiful. There were birds including one really noisy rooster. There was also a bunch of sheep but they had their backs to us the whole time and never turned around so we couldn't see their faces. We got to help harvest corn by hand the old fashioned way. I enjoyed doing that even though I couldn't find a good ear of corn that the wild birds hadn't gotten to. It was still fun participating in the harvesting though. That was my favorite part of the visit besides seeing the animals. The farm was really pretty. I would love to go back there sometime. Next year, I would like to go to their Halloween corn maze.

Mom- Howell Living History Farm is both fun and educational. Visiting the farm is like stepping into the past. It operates as a farm from the 1890s to the 1910s would rather than as a modern farm. Thus,  it gives families (and school groups) the opportunity to learn about what it was like on a farm when everything had to be done by hand rather than how it is now when most of the work is done by machines. Visitors can participate in a fun crossword puzzle related scavenger hunt,  lend a hand in harvesting corn, and more.

Free outdoor programs and tours are available at the farm now. There are also other programs available that do require a fee. However, there are no indoor programs currently because of Covid. Also, mask-wearing and proper socially distancing are required  at all times while visiting the farm. For more information, visit howellfarm.org.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.

  1. This looks like a wonderful place to visit not only for adults but also for the children to explore and learn.
