Tips for Tuesday - Books: Answers to Questions You've Never Asked & Games: Metro X

We may have been given complimentary copies of one or more of any books and/or other products mentioned below for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Books: Answers to Questions You've Never Asked

Today we are recommending Answers to Questions You've Never Asked by Joseph Pisenti. Joseph Pisenti is the creator behind the popular YouTube Channel, RealLifeLore, a channel that answers obscure everyday questions. This book covers similar topics but in a little more depth than it is possible to get into in short video form. The topics range from things that seem very logical to inquire about like why money is backed by gold to kind of crazy off-the-wall topics that most likely nobody would ever think to ask about like whether or not you can you turn the earth into a sandwich. The most interesting chapter of the book is the final one which deals with every president in US history and gives very detailed information about them which includes their terms of service, their major accomplishments, misconceptions about them, and even their pets. Every chapter of the book ends with some fun trivia questions. All in all, reading these books is an interesting sometimes informative; sometimes just  bizarre ride.

Games: Metro X

Today we are recommending Metro X.  Although this game may be a little bit confusing at first, it is really much simpler than it may at first appear. If you like strategy games you will probably enjoy it. The object is to create subway networks by filling up your subway map. Whoever has the most points at the end of the game wins. However, there is more to earning points that just accumulating stations and that is where the strategy comes in. This is not a game that varies a lot each time you play it, but if you like games that are familiar each time you play them and don't vary a lot, you may enjoy it. Anyway, right now this game is about the closest some of us have come and are going to come for some time to actually ride on the subway.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
