Let's Talk About Board Games

Me -  I like to play board games. I like Family Feud. I like Outburst. I like Trivial Pursuit. I like Monopoly. I like Scrabble.  I don't have a favorite game.  I always used to try to get my parents to have a family game night with us but somehow we never did.The only time we really did was after Superstorm Sandy. We had no electricity and we sat around and played games all day. Mostly, we played Trivial Pursuit. It was fun. It was almost sad when the electricity came back on, and we went back to normal life.  It is not fun to play with my sister. She is a sore loser. One of my cousin's makes up his own rules when he plays games. Another cousin, tries to make up her own rules too. After my brother moved out when he came to visit we played a lot of board games together. We got along a lot better than when he lived with us. I wish I could play board games more often.

Mom - When  I was younger I played games like Monopoly, Clue and Sorry. I had one friend in particular that I always used to play Monopoly with. I had another friend that I always used to play Jeopardy with. That was before Jeopardy was an electronic game. There actually was a board and a book with the answers, or rather, since we are talking about Jeopardy,  there was a book with questions. One thing I liked about that version was you could tell if you'd played every round and if you'd had every possible clue at least once (which we did). With these electronic versions and everything being shuffled all the time, you never really know. I also liked Jeopardy because it wasn't the exact  same thing every time. There were always different categories and different clues. I mean you might have a category more than once, but you never had the same clue more than once. I like games that you never know what you are going to get. My favorite games is Trivial Pursuit. I am good at it because I have a really good memory. I also like that there are so many versions of it with so many questions in each version that it is never exactly the same game. I also like Apples to Apples. I have only played it a few times but it was fun. I also like games like Scattergories and Taboo. I don't like games that involve strategizing. I like games that involve thinking and knowing things. When my kids  were little, they always wanted me to play board games with them, but I didn't really like to play the type of board games they played that much. I get too bored with those  type of games. Now that they are older, they like games more like the games I like except they don't really like to play Trivial Pursuit against me because I know much more than they do, but I have lived longer than them so I have gotten to know more things.

And that's our view. What is your favorite board game?

Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.

    1. I love Trivial Pursuit too. We have a lot of different versions but The Simpsons. We probably wouldn't be good at that one because we don't watch The Simpsons that much. Thanks for visiting Says Me Says Mom and your comment. Stay well.
