Mom - Boom is a one man show written and performed by Rick Miller. The show is basically a fun walk through history mostly covering the Baby Boomer period although the show goes through 1969 and the last of the Baby Boomer's were born in 1964. Rick takes on different persona's throughout the show and the story is told through their eyes. It is particularly told through the eyes of his mother, his father, and a former boyfriend of his mother. He doesn't exactly impersonate the three, it is all mostly done through the voice. However, there is much more to the show than that. There are historic pictures, famous quotes, snatches of popular songs from the various years and so much more. Although this is not a good show for young children due to some of the things covered in the show, it is a great show for older children who might find it a fun way to learn about some important events and people in history. If you are not a child, you are probably familiar with much of what is covered in the show and if you fall within a certain age range, you might even find much of it nostalgic. However, even if there is no information that is new to you in this show (which is doubtful since some of it relates to Canadian history as Rick Miller is Canadian and some of it relates to his personal history), the information is presented in such an entertaining manner that you will still enjoy this show.
