Tips for Tuesday - Movies: Playing With Fire & Books: Postcards from World War II

We may have received one or more of the books and/or other products mentioned below for review purposes and/or complimentary tickets to any movies mentioned for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Movies: Playing With Fire

Me - Today I am recommending Playing With Fire. Playing With Fire is about a group of smoke jumpers who rescue three children from a burning cabin, and then become responsible for them. At first it seemed like this movie was going to just be a movie full of action sequences and visual jokes. However, as the kids form relationships with the smoke jumpers, it really becomes a sweet touching movie full of heart. Accordingly, this is a great movie for everyone whether you love action movies, comedies or you just like movies that stir your emotions.

Books: Postcards from World War II

Mom - Today I am recommending Postcards from World War II by Robynn Clairday and Matt Clariday. With Veterans day coming up next week, this is a great time to think about the soldiers who fought for our country. This book takes a look at the soldiers of World War II in particular through the correspondence they sent home during the war. It also gives a year by year history of the war and what was going on in the country during that time as a result of the war. It is much more interesting way to learn about this period of history through soldiers postcards home than just to read a cut and dried textbook.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
