LINDA VISTA
At Broadway’s Hayes Theater
New York Premiere
By Tracy Letts
Directed by Dexter Bullard
Previews begin September 19; Opening Night is October 10

This Steppenwolf Theatre production of LINDA VISTA is presented in association with Center Theatre Group. LINDA VISTA received its west coast premiere at Center Theatre Group’s Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, January, 2019.

The Wall Street Journal raved LINDA VISTA, “might be Mr. Letts’ best play yet” and The Los Angeles Times gave the show 4 ½ stars declaring it “Sensational!“

Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award® winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County) takes a brutally comedic look at Wheeler, a 50-year-old divorcee in the throes of a mid-life spiral.  Just out of his ex-wife’s garage and into a place of his own, Wheeler starts on a path toward self-discovery — navigating blind dates, old friends, and new love.  Full of opinions, yet short on self-examination, Wheeler must reconcile the man he has become with the man he wants to be.

World Premiere
By Will Eno
Director TBD
Previews begin October 29; opening November 21

THE UNDERLYING CHRIS is co-commissioned by Center Theatre Group and Second Stage Theater.

THE UNDERLYING CHRIS, a world premiere play from Pulitzer Prize finalist Will Eno, is a life-affirming and high-spirited look at how a person comes into their identity, and how sometimes it’s life’s tiniest moments that most profoundly change our lives. In these divided times, THE UNDERLYING CHRIS serves as a celebration of our differences, our individuality, and the many mysterious, difficult, and beautiful things we share simply by being alive.

GRAND HORIZONS
At Broadway’s Hayes Theater
By Bess Wohl
Directed by Leigh Silverman
Previews begin December 20; opening night is January 23

GRAND HORIZONS is co-commissioned by Williamstown Theatre Festival and Second Stage Theater.

Bill and Nancy have spent fifty full years as husband and wife.  They practically breathe in unison, and can anticipate each other's every sigh, snore and sneeze.  But just as they settle comfortably into their new home in Grand Horizons, the unthinkable happens:  Nancy suddenly wants out.  As their two adult sons struggle to cope with the shocking news, they are forced to question everything they assumed about the people they thought they knew best.  By turns funny, shocking and painfully honest, Bess Wohl's new play explores a family turned upside-down and takes an intimate look at the wild, unpredictable, and enduring nature of love.

TAKE ME OUT
At Broadway’s Hayes Theater
By Richard Greenberg
Directed by Scott Ellis
Previews begin March 31; opening night is April 23

In this Tony Award®-winning Best Play, playwright Richard Greenberg celebrates the personal and professional intricacies of America’s favorite pastime. When Darren Lemming, the star center fielder for the Empires, comes out of the closet, the reception off the field reveals a barrage of long-held unspoken prejudices. Facing some hostile teammates and fraught friendships, Darren is forced to contend with the challenges of being a gay person of color within the confines of a classic American institution. As the Empires struggle to rally toward a championship season, the players and their fans begin to question tradition, their loyalties, and the price of victory.

OUR DEAR DEAD DRUG LORD
Co-production with WP Theater by special arrangement with Benjamin Simpson and Joseph Longthorne
At off-Broadway’s McGinn/Cazale Theater
By Alexis Scheer

In this fierce and feverish world premiere comedy from WP Theater and Second Stage, a gang of teenage girls gathers in an abandoned treehouse to summon the ghost of Pablo Escobar. Are they messing with the actual spirit of the infamous cartel kingpin? Or are they really just messing with each other? A rollercoaster ride through the danger and damage of girlhood – the teenage wasteland has never been so much twisted fun.

I Do!, with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt, based on the play The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog. York Theatre favorite David Glenn Armstrong (Roadside, Happy Hunting) is set to direct with music direction by David Hancock Turner (York’s Desperate Measures). This special one-of-a-kind evening kicks off an eighteen-month celebration of The York Theatre Company’s landmark 50th Anniversary.
The cast of five couples consists of Samantha Bruce (The Fantasticks)Lewis Cleale (The Book of Mormon )Daniel J. Edwards (Anything Goes)Nancy Ford (I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It On The Road)Gerry McIntyre (Once On this Island)Janet Metz (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat)Brad Oscar (Something Rotten!)Peter Saide (York’s Desperate Measures), Lynne Wintersteller (Closer than Ever), and the legendary Tom Jones (The Fantasticks)
I Do! I Do! is the story of fifty years in one marriage-- an intimate, moving, and hilarious musical comedy by the iconic Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt (authors of The Fantasticks, and recipients of The York’s 2017 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre). Written as a star vehicle for theatre legends Mary Martin and Robert Preston, the original Broadway production ran more than a year and received seven Tony Award nominations, and has been produced around the country and the world in the years since.
The York’s one-night-only intimate re-imagination of this Broadway classic, especially created by Tom Jones, will be a premiere: two pianos, five starry couples of Broadway and York alums, and will feature legendary lyricist and librettist Tom Jones, himself. The newly revised version will feature five couples portraying the main characters as they explore highlights of 50 years of marriage: “The Wedding Night,” “The Fight,” “New Year’s Eve,” “Thousands of Flowers,” and “The Golden Anniversary.”
I Do! I Do! begins with a couple on their wedding day. Their vows behind them, they look forward to spending the rest of their lives together. Set to a delightfully tuneful score (including the hit “My Cup Runneth Over”), we watch as they maneuver through wedding night jitters, raise a family, and negotiate midlife crises. This concert version, however, is this story of two soulmates as you’ve never seen it before: performed by cast that matures alongside their characters.
York Memberships can be purchased online at www.yorktheatre.org/membership, or by visiting The York Theatre Company Box Office (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue), or by calling the Box Office at (212) 935-5820 during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.).

Third Rail Projects' award-winning production of THEN SHE FELL, currently in its seventh year and playing over 3,500 performances, announces the release of a new block of tickets through September 29, 2019. This immersive theater event is inspired by the life and writings of Lewis Carroll (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland). THEN SHE FELL takes place at The Kingsland Ward at St. Johns, a century-old institutional building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where the action plays out on 3 floors.
THEN SHE FELL is a fully immersive, multi-sensory experience in which only 15 audience members at a time explore a dreamlike world where every alcove, corner, and corridor has been transformed into lushly designed performance space. Inspired by the life and writings of Lewis Carroll, it offers an ‘Alice-like’ experience for audience members as they explore the rooms, often by themselves, in order to discover hidden scenes; encounter performers one-on-one; unearth clues that illuminate a shrouded history; use skeleton keys to gain access to guarded secrets; and imbibe custom-designed elixirs.

Written, directed, designed and choreographed by Zach Morris, Tom Pearson and Jennine Willett in collaboration with The Company, THEN SHE FELL evokes the inner, psychological landscapes of Lewis Carroll, Alice Liddell, and iconic characters from Carroll’s texts. Every aspect of each audience member’s experience has been meticulously designed, from lush environments to the smells, tastes, and objects, that they discover as they explore and unravel a narrative that balances dream, reality, fact, and fiction.

THEN SHE FELL runs Tuesday - Sunday at 7:30pm & 10:30pm, with matinees on select Saturdays at 2pm. Tickets are $95 - $200, available at www.thenshefell.com. Private events and buyouts are also available; visit the website for more information. The Kingsland Ward at St. Johns is located 195 Maujer Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (just 2 blocks off of the L train at Grand Street). Performances begin promptly and there is absolutely no late admittance and no refunds. Admittance is strictly limited to audience members 21 years of age and over; all audience members must bring valid government-issued photo IDs. The performance lasts roughly 2 hours without intermission. Because of the immersive nature of this piece, audiences may be standing for significant periods of time over the course of the performance. Audiences are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. This performance is not recommended for audience members who are not comfortable standing, walking, climbing stairs or being alone. For more information call (347) 687-0203.
