BroadwayCon 2019 Wrap-Up

We were given free tickets to BroadwayCon for review purposes. Any and all opinions expressed here are our own.

Today's post will conclude our coverage of this year's BroadwayCon.

Me - BroadwayCon was a lot of fun. I really liked the show panels. They were my favorites. They were all really interesting. We didn't really go to as many other panels as we did last year. The panels we went did go to were good. I just don't remember them as well as the show panels. The show panels made me want to see all of the shows. I also really liked the games and I liked the first look panel. I liked all of the new shows that are coming to Broadway, and I want to see them all!  I especially want to see Beetlejuice and Kiss Me Kate. I also enjoyed seeing the You're A Good Man Charlie Brown reunion even though I never saw the show. The BroadwayCon marketplace was a little disappointing this year, however. It was way too crowded. Also, they mostly had things you can buy or acting classes to sign up for. In other years, there were things like Playbill and Broadway Box and Theatermania there. They always had interesting contests to enter and lots of giveaway and lots of spinning prize wheels at those booths. This year there was not as much of that. The Broadway Museum was interesting too. Over all,  I really enjoyed BroadwayCon, and I hope to go again next year.

Mom - I can't believe another BroadwayCon has come and gone. It went by so fast. This year at BroadwayCon we did not spend as much time walking around the BroadwayCon marketplace. It was smaller and more crowded. We didn't go to as many panels either although we did enjoy the panels we did attend. They included one on the way fans are changing Broadway and one on whatit  is like to be a press agent. We mostly went to a lot of show panels and we enjoyed learning about a lot of the current shows on Broadway. We also enjoyed the Broadway first look panel and learning about shows that are coming to Broadway. There were a lot of fun games to watch at Broadway game night and BroadwayCon feud. There was a whole lot of Rodgers and Hammerstein music at R&H goes pop. There was a You're A Good Man Charlie Brown cast reunion which even included a surprise appearance by Kristin Chenowith who was not listed as a guest at the panel even though she was in the show. There were people dressed up as characters from just about every show you can imagine. There was so much more too. However, what I think I enjoyed most about BroadwayCon was the diversity. There were people of different ages, different colors, different nationalities, different abilities all getting along, all having fun together, all sharing their love of Broadway. That is what is great about Broadway (and BroadwayCon). It brings people together. It would be nice if the rest of the world was more like that.
