Me - I am most familiar with City Center for their Encores! series which are short revivals of old musicals. I have seen a couple of them and I liked them very much. My favorite out of the ones I have seen is Grand Hotel. They did not have pictures, posters or memorabilia from the shows I have seen in the exhibit. However, it was interesting to look at the pictures, posters, and memorabilia that they did have. The exhibit included a picture of Lyn Manuel Miranda and a poster of Dick Van Dyke in Music Man. I have never seen The Music Man, but I like Dick Van Dyke. He's been in a lot of great movies. They had the plant from Little Shop of Horrors. There was  a Hirschfeld picture from The King and I. I haven't seen that yet, but I hope to see the live version from London in the movie theater on November 29 or December 4. Over all, it was a fascinating exhibit.

Mom - City Center is  a performing arts center in Midtown Manhattan. The building was formerly a Masonic Temple that was supposed to be demolished, but instead it was transformed  into the performing arts center that it is today.  Dance, Music, Opera and Theater have all been presented in this space. In honor of City Center's 75th Anniversary, it is the focus of an exhibit at the New York Public Library of the Performing Arts. The exhibit includes posters, pictures and other items related to the numerous events and performances that have occured at the venue over its history. There are  dance posters from Alvin Ailey and Paul Taylor. There are theater posters from musicals, such as, The Music Man and Finian's Rainbow. There are pictures from City Center's famous Encore! series of limited run revivals of Broadway musicals. These shows always have the most amazing casts! Accordingly,  the pictures in the exhibit include ones of such well known performers as Lyn Manuel Miranda and Megan Hilty, the latter of whom starred in the TV series Smash. There are also props and memorabilia from City Center shows and events including a script from Asssassins, Ballet shoes, and programs. If you are a fan of any kind of performing arts, there is sure to be something that you will love about this exhibit.
