Me & Mom - A fun thing to do if you have some time or want to get between Manhattan and Staten Island is to take the Staten Island Ferry. The ride is completely free and takes about a half hour. If you get to the terminal and see a very large crowd of people, don't get discouraged. The ferry is very big and can hold quite a lot of people. On board, you can either sit or stand by the railing and look out. If you don't stand, you will probably not be able to see out because there will be so many people standing at the railing you won't be able to see over them. The ferry moves very slowly compared to other boats, and it will feel even slower if you are sitting down the entire ride. Food and drinks are available for purchase on-board or you can bring your own. The terminal in Manhattan is not very interesting. However, in Staten Island, they have a couple of large aquariums with an assortment of fish. Just be aware that once you get to the terminal whether it be in Manhattan or Staten Island, you must disembark. If you want to go right back where you came from, you will need to board the next Ferry available for your return. Also, if you are coming from Manhattan and planning to stay in Staten Island for a while, there are no subways in Staten Island. Also, you should avoid using the Ferry weekdays during rush hour when the crowds are even larger because of people commuting to and from work, and you may have to wait longer to get on a Ferry. At any other time, a Staten Island Ferry ride can be fun for all ages.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.
