Mom's view - Lonesome Blues is a one man show about the legendary bluesman, Blind Lemon Jefferson. It has been condensed down to a one man show from several previous incarnations of a similiar show. If you love the blues and Blind Lemon Jefferson in particular, you will really enjoy this show. Quite a lot of Blind Lemon Jefferson's music is sampled in this show. If you are interested in the history of the Blues and particularly about Blind Lemon Jefferson's life, you will also really enjoy this show although it should be noted that the show was put together with what the authors could find out about the artist's life, and the record was sketchy and may not be completely accurate. If you want to see a tour de force performance by an artist, you also may enjoy this show as Akin Babatunde completely inhabits the character of Blind Lemon Jefferson from start to finish. However, if you are not interested in these things, you may not enjoy this show. It can feel rather long and tedious at times especially for anyone who is not really a fan of the blues. I definitely would not recommend it for children or anyone who has trouble sitting for a long time. It is doubtful that this show is going to turn anyone into a blues fan, but if you are a blues fan already this is the show for you.

And that's Mom's view. Tune in tomorrow for Funtivity Friday plus a giveaway!
