Tips for Tuesday: Books: The Art of Drawing Dangles: Creating Decorative Letters and Art With Charms, Neil Simon's Memoirs, and Yesterday's News

We may have been given some of the below mentioned books for review purposes. This post may also contain affiliate links. If you click on a link and make a purchase, we may be compensated.

Me - Dangles: Creating Decorative Letters and Art with Charms by Olivia A. Kneibler is book that  allegedly teaches how to draw with dangly patterns. The patterns are really pretty too look at .They are not necessarily so easy to draw unless you are really good at drawing. It is still fun to look at the pretty patterns, however. That is why I am recommending this book. Either people who can draw really well or people who just like to look at beautiful drawings would enjoy this book.

Mom - Today I am recommending two books:

The first book I am recommending is Neil Simon's Memoirs. Neil Simon is arguably one of the most famous writers in history.  He has written numerous plays and movies, many of the movies he's written were  adaptions of plays he wrote. He has also written for televison. His works have included the plays The Odd Couple, The Sunshine Boys and Sweet Charity. His films have included The Out-Of-Towners, The Goodbye Girl and Max Dugan Returns. He has written for such TV shows as Your Show of Shows and the Phil Silvers show. This book combines his two previous volumes of memoirs into one book. Accordingly, it is a very long book, and the first part of this book has very long chapters. However,  if you stick it out, the book is really fascinating. It is so interesting to learn about how Neil got his inspiration for his plays and how close his plays are to his real life, and there is so much more to learn from this book. It is especially inspirational for a young writer just starting out or indeed any young person just starting out in a job to know that even a prolific writer like Neil Simon went through ups and down in his career and persevered and so can they.

The second book I am recommending is Yesterday's News by R.G. Belsky. This book will be published on May 1, 2018. I received a copy for review prior to publication. Yesterday's News is about Clare Carlson who works for a TV News station although now she is in a managerial position back when she was reporter she became obssessed with the disappearance of an eleven year old girl named Lucy Devlin. Now, new evidence has come to light in the case. Clare is determined to solve the mystery of what happened to Lucy both for Lucy's  dying mother and  for herself  because there is just something drawing her to the case. This fast-paced thriller is very unpredictable. It is impossible to put down and fun to read. You will never know where the story is going until you reach the final pages.

And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.
