What: Italian American Museum
Where: 155 Mulberry St.
New York, NY
Who: Ages 5 and Up
Me & Mom - New York City like many other cities has an Italian American Museum. The Italian American Museum in New York is a little museum devoted to Italian American history and Italian Americans' contributions to American history. The museum is not very big, but there are quite a lot of things to see. When you get there, there is a film which gives you a history of the museum. The museum includes objects that people would use in their every day life or their job like clothes, and a sewing machine. There are also objects related to famous Italian America's like pictures of Joe Di Maggio, Mario Lanza recordings and sheet music, and objects related to Frank Serpico, a former police officer known for blowing a whistle on police corruption in the late 1960s and early 1970s. There was also a shovel that was used to break ground for building the first New York City subway. The building used to be a bank so there was a bank vault and objects related to the bank including old Italian money. There is also a second room in the museum that has changing art exhibits. The museum is not a bad place to take children because it is not that big, and there are some objects that children might enjoy viewing like a musical instrument, an organ grinding machine and/or pictures of famous baseball players. All in all, it is a really cute little museum that is quick to go through. There is no set fee for visiting the museum, a donation in the amount of your choosing is requested to help cover the costs of running the museum.
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Theater Thursday.

Tips for Tuesday - Misc. Lullapop Lullabies
We were given the below mentioned CD for review purposes. Any and all opinions expresed here are our own.
Me - Today I am recommending Lullapop Lullabies. It is lullabies made from popular music. Some of them are really pretty. The songs on the CD that I like the regular versions of I liked better on this CD than the songs I don't usually like anyway or songs don't know. This is a really good CD for a baby because the songs are nice and quiet. It is good for adults too because it probably would not get on their nerves as much as regular lullabies.
Mom - Today I am also recommending Lullapop Lullabies. This CD is a great choice for any parents who are sick and tired of the usual children's lullabies that they've already heard a thousand times before. It is full of baby versions of grown up songs. It includes full soft and sweet, instrumental versions of twenty one (21) of today's most popular hits. Despacito, Can't Stop the Feeling, 24K Magic, and Hello are just a sampling of the songs covered. These are lullabies that both babies and parents can enjoy.
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Where-To-Go Wednesday.

A More Theater Monday Monthly Mash-up for February, 2018 Mr. Popper's Penguin's and Tao Drum Heart
For this month's mashup, we will both be talking about a couple of shows we've recently seen at State Theatre New Jersey.
Me - My topic for this month is Mr. Popper's Penguins. Mr. Popper's Penguins was a cute show. It was based on the book of the same name. They used puppets for the Peguins and I liked them. They were my favorite thing about the show. My favorite character was Captain Cook the Penguin. He was the main penguin. The songs were cute but not very memorable. The acting, singing and dancing were all good. There wasn't really a set, but the costumes were nice. The show moved along kind of slowly which is probably fine for the small children to whom it was aimed. I had never read the book Mr. Popper's Penguins nor had I every seen a show based on the book. I did see the movie, but this version was very different. There are things to like about both versions. Young kids who like fun and/or energetic shows and/or animals especially penguins would enjoy this show.
For more about Mr. Popper's Penguins live, visit mrpopperspenguinslive.com.
Mom - My topic for this month is Tao Drum Heart. Tao Drum Heart is a show based on the ancient art of Japanese Taiko drumming. Although, taiko drums have been used in Japan for over 1400 years, the type of taiko drumming popular today has only been around since the 1950s. Tao Drum Heart is performed by Drum Tao. Drum Tao was started in 1993. It now consists of 43 performers that make up three different teams that perform all over the world. If you love loud music, you would probably enjoy this show. If you don't like loud noise, you will not like this show. The loudness of the show makes it a great choice for families with kids of all ages, as long as they are not bothered by or sensitive to extremely loud sounds, because the music is so lound that even if the kids are loud, they probably will not be heard over the music.

THE CINEMA MUSICAL
Off-Broadway Performances Begin March 1
At The Davenport Theatre
354 W. 45th St., New York, NY
WICKED CLONE, the cinema musical, is set to begin Off-Broadway performances March 1st at the Davenport Theatre, 354 West 45 Street (between Eighth & Ninth Ave.) Opening Night will be Thursday, March 8th. Created and performed by Indiggo Twins (Grammy-winning artists Mihaela and Gabriela Modorcea), WICKED CLONE is based on their bestselling Barnes & Noble novel, Wicked Clone or how to deal with the evil. Identical twin sisters born in Transylvania, Mihaela and Gabriela turn the age-old vampire cliché upside down, revealing who and what vampires truly are.
WICKED CLONE is the tale of a vampire bitten by a human being. Born without a heartbeat, memories or inspiration, Mihaela flees from Transylvania to New York and pulls her fangs out in order to love and become a human. Her "Wicked Clone" twin sister Gabriela follows her through space and time to bring her back to her vampiric roots. Featuring fairy tale elements of traditional Transylvanian folklore with themes related to Goethe's Faust, Ibsen's Peer Gynt or Dante's Divine Comedy, WICKED CLONE is the compelling story of two identical twin sisters born in Transylvania in 1483, who live and work in 2018 NYC.
WICKED CLONE is a cinema musical, a new genre that projects the audience into an immersive blend of theater & film and an epic story of rebirth. The twins will be performing 21 of their original pop-gypsy compositions and hot-blooded choreography, wearing royal garments of Transylvanian inspiration
Indiggo Twins is comprised of multi-talented identical twin sisters Mihaela and Gabriela Modorcea – Romanian-born American artists. Several top music producers have written with and for Indiggo Twins including Swizz Beatz (Beyoncé, Jay-Z), Rockwilder (Christina Aguilera), Peter Zizzo (Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne), and Paul Oakenfold (Madonna). Their original song "La La La" was featured on the multi-platinum and four-time Grammy Award-winning album,Watch The Throne by Jay-Z and Kanye West, specifically on the track "Murder to Excellence," called "the centerpiece of the album" by The New York Times. The song earned the sisters a spot on Complex Magazine's Top 20 Best White Vocals in Rap History list. The Mordorcea sisters both graduated with honors from the National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography, Bucharest, Musical Theater.
Performances of WICKED CLONE will be Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm, with matinees Sundays at 3 pm. Tickets are available through www.Telecharge.com 212-239-6200.

Reduced Shakespeare Company's
William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play (abridged)
William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play (abridged)
The “Bad Boys of Abridgment” are back! Uproarious and rapid-fire, the Reduced Shakespeare Company makes sharp, short comedy in their latest sendup, William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged). Discovered in a treasure-filled parking lot in Leicester, England (next to a pile of bones that didn't look that important), an ancient manuscript proves to be the literary holy grail—the long-lost first play written by none other than seventeen-year-old William Shakespeare! William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged) makes its off-Broadway premiere at The New Victory Theater, opening on March 2 and playing through March 11, 2018, as part of a 20-city tour throughout the United States.
Using questionable scholarship and street-performer smarts, playwrights Martin and Tichenor spin the Bard’s 39 plays into a fast, funny and fictional 40th in a brand new story. William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged) pits Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream against Ariel of The Tempest, turning Shakespeare’s canon upside-down and creating such strange bedfellows as Hamlet, Lady Macbeth, Viola, Richard III, King Lear, the Weird Sisters and (of course) Dromio and Juliet.
Learn more about William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged) on the New Victory website.
Performance schedule (10 performances):
Friday, March 2 at 7pm
Saturday, March 3 at 2pm / 7pm

This is a chance to practice pitching with real producers who are open to and looking for new work. They probably won't option your work on the spot, but there will be the opportunity to meet them and start a relationship. And that's what this business is all about. Relationships.
Application is available at http://truonline.org/wp-
Come with a willingness to learn, because the real value is the chance to practice your pitching, and get invaluable coaching from experts. Wine and snacks to follow.
