Me- Today I am recommending Draw Free. You are given choices of things to draw. You chose one and draw it on your screen. Somebody else is playing against you, they have to guess what you've drawn. Then, you have a turn guessing what somebody else drew. If somebody guesses what you drew you get points. Points get you bombs that help you eliminate letters of what the other person's drawing can possibly be or you can get new colors that you can draw with. This game is fun and addicting. What I don't like about it is that a lot of people cheat and spell-out what they have drawn just to get the points and some don't even try to draw anything at all they just spell out a word.
Mom - Today I am recommending The Origin of Everything. The Origin of Everything is a PBS Digital series that explores why things are they way they are and also delves into the truth of urban legends. The show is hosted by Danielle Bainbridge, a Yale doctoral candidate. The series is interesting, informative and fun. It is quick to watch too with episodes lasting only about 8 to 10 minutes. Recent topics explored on the series have included Why Is There a North and South Korea and Why Are 18 Year Olds Considered Adults as well as two Halloween episodes exploring Urban Legends, the first about poisoned Halloween candy and the second about killer clowns. For links to view the Halloween episodes, see below.
Poison Halloween Candy
https://youtu.be/KcfkNr9R-T8
Every year around Halloween, we hear the same concern: you gotta check the candy for poison because strangers put laxatives in Tootsie Rolls, Razor Blades in Apples and heroine in Snickers. But is this trick or treat dilemma an actual reality or just a clever way for your parents to steal your candy?
Scary Clowns
https://youtu.be/T5_Li2whOHA
We all know that 1980s horror movies like IT and Killer Klowns from Outer Space led to the cultural phenomenon of "scary clown," did you know the reality is much deeper than that? From the Middle Ages through the Renaissance to 19th Century England, clowns have always been around to bring a little chaos. And the truth is, up until the late 1800s they were NEVER for kids. So while Pennywise might be back in the terrifying new IT remake, the truth is terrifying killer clowns are nothing new.
