What: Barefoot in the Park
Where: Kelsey Theatre
1200 Old Trenton Rd.
West Windsor, NJ
Who: Teens and Up
Mom - Barefoot in the Park is an older show by Neil Simon. It was originally produced on Broadway in 1963, and then was made into a movie with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford in 1967. The show centers around a pair of newlyweds, a free spirited woman and her more uptight mate. The current version of the show playing at Kelsey Theatre is a little slow at times but over all not bad. Gina Migliaccio is full of spunk in the lead role of Corie Bratter. Her counterpart Evan Bilinski as Corie's husband, Paul Bratter starts out slow but gets better as he goes along. He does have the perhaps more difficult more subdued role though. The rest of the small cast is mixed. Some are better than others. The show is somewhat dated. However, if you look at it is a period piece reflective of the 1960s, it can be enjoyable at least for adults and older children at least. It is not really a show for younger children.
Barefoot in the Park will continue this Friday September 29, Saturday September 30, and Sunday October 1. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.kelseyatmccc.org/Barefoot.
And that's our view. Tune in tomorrow for Funtivity Friday.
