Bright Star was a musical  that opened on Broadway on February 26, 2016. It was written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. Although, it was nominated for numerous theater awards and even won a few. It closed on June 26, 2016. On Monday December 12, 2016 a one-night only reunion concert was held at Town Hall in New York City. The sold-out concert was livestreamed on Theatermania.com.

Me - I never got to see Bright Star on Broadway, but I wanted to see it. It didn't run very long. I was excited to hear that they were having a reunion concert. At first, I didn't know it was a only a concert though. I thought it was the whole show. I was sad when I heard the concert was sold-out because I wanted to see it. I was happy to find out the concert was going to be live streamed. During the concert even though it wasn't the whole play they talked enough so that you could understand what was going on. The show was about a woman who had a baby at a young age and was forced to give him up for adoption. I really liked the music a lot. I especially liked Sun Is Gonna Shine, Ashville, Always Will, and If You Knew My Story. The story was interesting. The singing was beautiful. After I saw the livestream, I was even more sorry that I didn't get to see the show. The live stream was amazing! It is still better to see a show or concert in person, but if you can't that's the next best thing because at least you get to see it.

Mom  - Bright Star was one of those shows I wanted to see in the last Broadway theater season, but never got to so I was excited when I heard that there was going to be a one-night only reunion concert. I was disappointed when the concert was sold-out, but I was glad when I found out t it was going to be live streamed. After I saw the live stream, I was even more disappointed that I never got to see the show when it was on stage. I really liked the music. It was a very different than the music in a lot of other Broadway shows. It was much more country. I had heard some of the music before when Steve Martin and Edie Brickell or cast members from the show appeared on various talk shows. Also, when we went to the last At This Performance concert, one of the performers was Maddie Shea Baldwin. She was the understudy for one of the performers in Bright Star and she sang a couple of songs in the show. The performers in the live stream concert were all really good especially Carmen Cusack, the star of the show, She made her  debut in the show.  I see why she was nominated for several awards and even won a Theater World Award for Best Debut Performance, All in all, it seemed like a really entertaining show, I'm sorry I never got to see it live. Live stream is great, and I hope that they have more of them, but actually live is better. Too many shows just come and go too quickly on Broadway these days and its hard to get to see them live.

And that's our view. What would you like to see live streamed?

Tune in tomorrow for Tips for Tuesday.
